2F - Miss Fysh

Class 2F

Hi Year 2! I hope you are all well and ready to enjoy this lovely weather - paddling pool pumped up, suncream at the ready and some yummy ice lollies in the freezer? Remember to be safe in the sun - suncream, hats and lots of water!

Please don't forget about me - I love reading your emails (it doesn't have to be work!) so please remember to email me at least once a week. I am in school nearly everyday now looking after the children there, so I am really sorry if I don't reply straight away, I often get half way through, get asked for something then forget - talk about fish and their memories!

The potatoes are READY! I'm going to try and get a video of them being lifted so you can all see them. I have ordered more for next year too so hopefully you can see them then too.

Can't wait to see all your lovely smiling faces and read those emails.

Miss Fysh :)

Welcome to Class 2F!

Miss Fysh is the class teacher and Mrs Goodyear and Miss Guntrip are our teaching assistants every morning. Miss Wilson and Miss O'Brien will also work with us at different times during the week.

Important Information

  • PE is on a Monday afternoon. Please can you make sure your child has their indoor and outdoor PE kit every week no matter what the weather is as we will still be outside even when it is cold.

  • Miss Houldridge will teach the class every Wednesday morning. She will also teach some Monday mornings and Thursday afternoons.

  • Homework folders will be sent home on a Friday to be returned on a Wednesday. Homework will consist of a reading task, a maths task and a spelling card.

Hi everyone, it's Miss Morris - here are the audio stories I have done that you can listen to - You will need to download the PowerPoint, open it up and then play it as a slide show - you will hopefully hear me telling you the story.

I hope you enjoy

Hi there - if it is your birthday whilst we are not at school then we haven't forgotten you! I have attached a link to Happy Birthday! So, get the family up - sing Happy Birthday and dance to your heart's content - the whole school won't be watching this time!

I have also attached the links to other songs that we sometimes sing on a Tuesday morning - have a good sing song - singing makes you feel positive and fills you with energy.

Have fun singing - remember the actions to some - and behave for people at home!

Miss Morris

Autumn Term - 1

This half term our topic is Castles. We will be looking at the different parts of castles and how they differ from modern homes. We will be locating different parts of the UK and finding cities and castles on maps of the UK.

Our first class book will be 'The Twits' and this will form the basis for some of our reading and writing in English.

Our school trip is to Conisborough Castle (near Doncaster) on Friday 13th of September. Children will need to be in school uniform and will need to bring a packed lunch.

Autumn Term  - 2

This half term our topic is 'Our Wonderful World'. The main focus of our topic lessons will be science and geography where we will be comparing the North & South Poles to the UK and looking at how plants and animals are adapted to survive in these different biomes. We will of course be covering a wide range of other subjects including music, art and ICT.

Our class book this half term will be 'Fantastic Mr Fox' by Roald Dahl and this will form the main focus of our tasks in readign and writing in English.
