I've got our seeds all planted and will keep you updated with how they are growing. The potatoes we planted seem nice and settled in thier new home in my back garden.

STORY-TIME

Hi everyone, it's Miss Morris - this is my first attempt to read to you via internet and slide show - You will need to download the PowerPoint, open it up and then play it as a slide show - you will hopefully hear me telling you the story.

The first one I have tried is 'The Boy Who Cried Wolf'

I hope you enjoy

SINGING

Hi there - if it is your birthday whilst we are not at school then we haven't forgotten you! I have attached a link to Happy Birthday! So, get the family up - sing Happy Birthday and dance to your heart's content - the whole school won't be watching this time!

I have also attached the links to other songs that we sometimes sing on a Tuesday morning - have a good sing song - singing makes you feel positive and fills you with energy.

Have fun singing - remember the actions to some - and behave for people at home!

Miss Morris

Miss Houldridge

Hello Year 2. I hope you are all well. I have a little fun task we didn't get chance to do at school that I would love for you to have a go at while you are at home. It may take you a while and may need some help but that is okay. I will not be able to give you work every week as I am still at school so take your time to make this amazing!

Your job is to make a powerpoint or keynote or even a paper flipchart or book all about the Easter story. I will attach the Easter story below so you have some help to remember what the story is about. Have fun and most importantly, stay safe!

Hi there - it's Miss Morris - hope you are all working hard but also being kind to whoever is at home and to each other! Miss Fysh has been telling me all about the topic you would have been doing if we were all at school - it is all about THE SEASIDE - I love the seaside. I have found a few resources that I have attached below that you could have a go at. I have also attached a link to a website all about Cleethorpes - a seaside town that is just down the road from Messingham and hopefully soon, you can visit it for yourself.

Have fun researching and finding out all about the seaside...

Hi - Miss Morris again - over the next few weeks, I will be putting up some science activities for you to have a look at - some can be done on paper, some can be done in the garden! The first recap of learning for you is Habitats....see what you can remember!

Autumn Term - 1

This half term our topic is Castles. We will be looking at the different parts of castles and how they differ from modern homes. We will be locating different parts of the UK and finding cities and castles on maps of the UK.

Our first class book will be 'The Twits' and this will form the basis for some of our reading and writing in English.

Our school trip is to Conisborough Castle (near Doncaster) on Friday 13th of September. Children will need to be in school uniform and will need to bring a packed lunch.

Autumn Term  - 2

This half term our topic is 'Our Wonderful World'. The main focus of our topic lessons will be science and geography where we will be comparing the North & South Poles to the UK and looking at how plants and animals are adapted to survive in these different biomes. We will of course be covering a wide range of other subjects including music, art and ICT.

Our class book this half term will be 'Fantastic Mr Fox' by Roald Dahl and this will form the main focus of our tasks in readign and writing in English.
