Catherine Griffith.

I have been a governor at Messingham Primary since 2009 and am a co-opted governor.  I have a Degree in Hotel Management and a PGCE in Education and Training.  I work in the Further Education sector and am responsible for student progression and achievement, SEN and safeguarding.  I became a governor as I believe that the education of children is very important and that they should be given every opportunity to fulfil their potential, this can be best achieved through outstanding education.   I enjoy having the opportunity to visit the school to support the work of the Headteacher and their team and to provide a critical friend to the school.  I am the SEN governor and sit on the safeguarding committee.

Jane Laws

I am delighted to have joined the Governing Body at Messingham Primary School in 2014. The main reason for wanting to become a governor at this school was the fantastic opportunity that this offered for being involved in the continuous development of this established school.  As an educational professional with more than 20 years experience, I see it as a very exciting and potentially challenging prospect but one that brings with it the chance to make a tangible difference to the children and young people in our community.  I worked as a primary teacher, working predominantly in Key Stage 2 for a number of years before taking up post with the Local Authority as a member of the Education Division.  Whilst serving as a teacher, my key responsibilities included subject lead for English, IT and creative curriculum.

My current job, working for North Lincolnshire Council, is that of Lead Officer for learning and workforce development for the schools workforce. I also lead on a number of projects in a range of settings including study support, personalised learning, community and family learning. I believe that I will be able to draw on a wealth of experiences gained over the last few years, working with schools and the local community to benefit the continuous development of our school.

Adrian Capon

I’m married living in Messingham with two young boys and one already started in school. My background is having over 20 years of work experience in marketing and communications. I’m passionate about continuous learning and development. As a parent, you want the best start in life for your children and as a Governor, I want to support and see the school do the best they can to enable our children to fulfil their potential.

Jo Smeaton

Hello I'm Jo Smeaton. I've been the Teaching Staff Governor since 2014 and I currently teach in year 6. As the school SENCO and member of the leadership team, I am fully involved in the life and work of the school. I have a particular interest in Art and thoroughly enjoy being the Art subject leader where I monitor the progression of art skills throughout the school. After more than 10 years of teaching at Messingham, I feel I know the school incredibly well and am very proud of our achievements - both pupils and staff.  In my role as governor, it is my aim to be an approachable and effective representative for the teaching staff and ensure good relationships between the Governors and other stakeholders of the school. I operate an open door policy and am happy to talk with people and help wherever I can.

Vicky Lee

Hello my name is Vicky Lee and I am a registered child-minder in the village. I have been a Parent Governor since 2011 years and I have two girls at the school. Literacy is my area of special responsibility as well as been part of other committees. As a governor I am dedicated in supporting the school to provide a safe and fun learning environment for our children to thrive in. I am in the school playground everyday if you have any questions.
