Welcome to 4/5H class page!
This page will be filled with useful information about the class and the topics that we cover this year.
Year 4/5 have started the year in tremendous form and have already gained 7 class squares! We have come back after summer ready to learn and it's paying off! Our first theme for this year is "We need you!" We will be understanding how both the world wars started along with learning details and key events that happened in both. In Art we have been creating some fantastic portraits of soldiers injured in the war. We are going to create our own moving tank in DT. English is filled with stories and poems all about the war and we have been having extremely interesting conversations about whether war is ever okay. It is set to be a fun filled term, packed with creative and inspiring lessons and activities.
In maths, we have already touched on place value and addition and subtraction. Next half terms sees a big focus on multiplication and division (including times tables) along with fractions and some statistical work.
We hope to create a positive learning environment where all children feel happy and ready to learn. If you have any questions about your child's learning or progress, you can catch me 15 minutes before and after the school day.
Miss Fowler will be working with our class every morning this year and providing children with intervention support when necessary. Miss Porter will take the class every Tuesday morning.
PE will be on a Tuesday this year. The first half term of PE will consist of football and dance (the hakka) as well as practicing skills for interhouse sports. Please can you make sure your child has their indoor and outdoor PE kit every week no matter what the weather is as we could still be outside when it is cold.
